A bejelentés a Skillet közel harmincéves pályafutásának egyik legsikeresebb időszakában érkezik: a zenekart átlagosan 12 millióan hallgatják Spotify-on, hatszores platinalemezes himnuszuk, a Monster pedig átlépte az 5 milliárd globális streamet. A dal bekerült a Spotify Billions Clubjába, ezzel a Skillet lett az első keresztény előadó, aki beléphetett ebbe a „klubba”. Idei európai turnéjuk pedig a banda történetének legnagyobb nemzetközi közönségét vonzotta. Nyáron tökéletes időzítéssel kiadták a Scream című dalt, majd a Lift Me Up-ot, egyúttal pedig bejelentették hatszámos EP-jük, az After the Storm októberi megjelenését is.

Skillet are truly in their element: their summer European tour was the most successful run of their career, while their latest single, “Scream”, has already surpassed 7 million streams. Their forthcoming EP, After the Storm, finds the band at the height of their powers, opening a new chapter with their most vulnerable and hopeful material to date while returning to their roots through a heavier sound. This unstoppable Skillet will return to Budapest on July 29, when they take over Budapest Park once again!
The announcement arrives during one of the most successful periods of Skillet’s nearly 30-year career. The band now average 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while their six-times-Platinum anthem “Monster” has surpassed 5 billion global streams. The song has earned a place in Spotify’s Billions Club and became the first song by a Christian artist to surpass 1 billion streams on the platform. Their European tour this year also drew the largest international crowds in the band’s history.
This summer, Skillet released “Scream”, followed by “Lift Me Up”, while also announcing the October release of their six-track EP, After the Storm.
Produced by David Cowell (Sleep Theory) and the band’s own Korey Cooper, After the Storm marks both a return to Skillet’s heavier musical roots and one of their most personal creative statements to date. Inspired by periods of betrayal, grief, perseverance and, ultimately, hope, the EP finds frontman John Cooper writing from one of the most vulnerable places of his career.
“After the Storm is special to me because it reignites what Skillet was always meant to be - which is music that helps lift people out of dark times,” says Cooper. – “I wrote these songs because I needed to be lifted out of my own darkness.”
