Színház, horror és metal találkozása - A svéd metal egyik legőrültebb zenekara, az Avatar Budapestre érkezik.
A svéd Avatar pontosan az a zenekar, amelyikből ma már nagyon kevés van: egyszerre brutálisan súlyos, látványosan teátrális és elképesztően szórakoztató. A Göteborgból indult csapat az elmúlt években a modern metal egyik legkülönlegesebb produkciójává nőtte ki magát, ahol a melodikus death metal, az alternatív metal és a groteszk rockszínház teljesen összefolyik. Az Avatar 2026. december 5-én érkezik Budapestre a Barba Negrába.
Az Avatar zenéjének egyik legnagyobb ereje, hogy sosem ragadtak le egyetlen stílusnál. Korai lemezeiken még a svéd melodeath és metalcore dominált, később azonban egyre bátrabban nyúltak a groove metalhoz, alternatív rockhoz, sőt cirkuszi és horrorisztikus hangulatokhoz is. Dalaik egyszerre sötétek, fülbemászóak és filmszerűek, nem véletlen, hogy sokan egy Tim Burton-féle rémálom és egy metal koncert keverékeként írják le az élményt.
Led by Johannes Eckerström, the band is famous for completely unleashing chaos on stage: with the frontman’s demonic clown-like appearance, the spectacular live production, and the constantly pulsating energy, an Avatar show feels more like a bizarre theatrical performance than a traditional concert.
Avatar’s major breakthrough came with the album Black Waltz, which established their signature theatrical modern metal sound. They later became widely known through songs such as Hail the Apocalypse, Bloody Angel, and The Eagle Has Landed. In 2023, their track The Dirt I’m Buried In reached No. 1 on Billboard’s rock chart, further cementing their international success. Over the years, the band has also collected several major industry awards, including the Metal Hammer Golden Gods “Breakthrough Band” award.

The evening will be opened by Danish band Neckbreakker, who have recently emerged as one of the most exciting rising acts on the European extreme metal scene. Their music combines the brutality of death metal with hardcore energy and modern metal intensity, while their live shows are infamous for being chaotic and relentless.
